Welcome to Andy Foote on his prestigious Marie Skłodowska Curie COFUND Fellowship!

Dr. Andy Foote joins the MEFGL supported by Marie Skłodowska Curie COFUND Fellowship.

Following a late autumn arrival and a number of overseas trips, we are excited to officially welcome Dr Andy Foote, who is joining the MEFGL, supported by a prestigious Marie Skłodowska Curie COFUND Fellowship. Andyjoined us from the Excoffier lab in Bern, Switzerland and previously a number of labs around Europe, including the Gilbert lab in Copenhagen.

Since finishing his PhD in 2010, Andy has been particularly busy in developing an impressive research portfolio, with a heavy focus on ecological speciation and population genomics in marine mammals, complemented by a range of publications in Nature Publishing Group journals. During his time in Bangor, Andy will focus on his Fellowship, hosted by Si, that seeks to investigate speciation in novel marine-freshwater transition zones using ancient DNA technology and a range of other exciting research threads.

For those of you who do not know Andy by sight, he is pictured here at the Murren ski station where the James Bond film "On Her Majesties Secret Service" was filmed in the Bernese Oberland! Welcome to the group Andy and all the best for your forthcoming research programme!
